Welcome to St Mary's, the Parish Church of Thorpe, Egham, Surrey

St. Mary's Church of England Parish Church has been a centre of Christian religious worship in the area since Roman times.

Every Sunday at 8 a.m. or 10 a.m. you can come to join in with the services.

All are welcome!

This is the view parishioners, worshippers and visitors have of the church building as they approach St. Mary's

On these pages you will find a brief introduction to what happens at St. Mary's and the importance of this church in community life and our national history

This website is just one of the ways we help St. Mary's fulfil its mission as the parish church for Thorpe Village in the wider context of local and national life, and international life as expressed over the internet.

For the moment the site is in an experimental stage. The compilers would welcome any suggestion as to ways of improving the information given in its pages.

If this is your first contact with us at St. Mary's, please let us know through the following link, or join us at one of our services, social functions, and entertainments. We look forward to meeting you and making your acquaintance.

Baptisms, Weddings, and Funerals

These are often the first points of contact with many parishioners, particularly those new to the area. If you would like to discuss plans for a baptism, wedding, or funeral, you can meet with members of the parish staff who are available every Friday evening, between 6.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m., either in the Church or the Rutherwyke Room (situated behind the church).

In the case of funerals, and sudden emergencies, one of the parish staff will call as soon as possible after they have been informed.

The main church action in these events takes place around the East end of the Nave and before the Chancel Arch, pictured below.
